Working in offices

Filipinos are prepared and willing to work in offices, but each person has a unique preference as what, when, where, and how to work in which company. That means, a person may not be good in one job but excels in another.

In the Philippines, working hours in most government and private companies start at 8 AM and end at 5 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break from 12 noon to 1 PM. For those who do not know yet, the Philippines follows the GMT+8 time zone. Most of those offices are open from Monday to Friday.

Makati City is the Philippines's most busy business location in Metro Manila, where most corporate buildings are erected.

There comes the night-shift hours, from 10 PM to 6 AM the next day. The most common jobs in the Philippines that follow those hours are customer service representatives and maintenance crew, whose companies are operating 24 hours a day. Some companies with semi-flexible schedules are known to have their working hours from 9 AM to 6 PM, or 10 AM to 7 PM.

Working in offices should not be confused with labor-dependent, wage-earning jobs.
