Lodging options for temporary residents

If you are a foreigner, you would want to know where you want to spend the night in before the day ends.
  • Hotels are the main choice of foreigners where they can conveniently stay for some time. A 12-hour hotel stay in a typical hotel will usually cost $10 to $20. Most hotels provide their customers with free meals (and quality service of course).
  • House rental is another choice for foreigners who have planned to stay long in the country. The average cost of renting a nice house is about $150 a month (equivalent to $5 per day), not including utility bills. The payment terms are usually monthly or quarterly.
  • Apartments are an option for foreigners who need to stay for quite a long time but who do not want to pay for the rent of an entire house. The rental costs are between $2 to $4 per day, whose payment terms are usually weekly or monthly. In some apartments, bills for electrical and water utilities are paid by the occupant, but depending on the agreement, the owner may shoulder the payment for reasonable usage of the utilities by the renters.
  • Staying in Filipino homes for some time is an option if you have obtained the gratitude of a Filipino. Through their hospitality, they will offer you accommodation, food, water, electricity and anything else you need, all without charge. Again, it is completely free. However, this should not be taken for granted.

Looking for available hotels or temporary houses late at night may reduce your chances of finding an ideal place to stay and also increases your danger, so it is always best to plan ahead of time.
